The Linkanoe

This is a Linkanoe Dewey Gillespie inherited in the early 1980’s from Mr. & Mrs. Leslie Gill who were great friends with the Gillespie family. The Gill’s were Professional Photographers from New York who came to the Miramichi to angle with the late Maxwell O. Gillespie. Mr. Gill (1908-1958) worked as art director for 'House Beautiful' magazine, and photographed for numerous magazines, including Life, Harper's Bazaar, McCall's, Town and Country, and Holiday, used the canoe on the Southwest Miramichi near Blackville. His wife, Francis McLaughlin-Gill is still living in New York with her daughter Leslie. Dewey still displays the canoe on request.

“Where The Rivers Meet”

The Fly Tyers of New Brunswick the 2nd Time Around

By Dewey H. Gillespie

“Where The Rivers Meet” The Fly Tyers of New Brunswick is the creation of Miramichi natives Dewey H. Gillespie and Walter Francis “Budd” Kitchen.  Since the early 1990’s they have collected and promoted information on New Brunswick Fly Tyers and now they wish to share this information with you.  The Fly Tyers represented in this collection were selected to acknowledge the contribution they made to the art of fly tying in the Province of New Brunswick.

Dewey and “Budd” graciously contribute this article to be published for your reading enjoyment.
